A Day in the Life of an Art Director at Artstash Creative

No two days are ever quite the same here at Artstash Creative but that’s exactly what makes the job so creatively fulfilling.

For one of our Art Directors, the day begins the same way every time: with a double shot of espresso and a scroll through Slack. Working in a global company and located on the West Coast timezone means their inbox and slack are on fire by the time they login each morning (Think meeting heavy mornings, to focus time in the afternoon) 

Kick start with reviewing feedback, brainstorming ad concepts, or finessing the final touches on a campaign. Whether we’re building a global launch or fine-tuning a seasonal push, every decision is rooted in how we can drive impact for our clients and push performance even further.

Once the initial morning chaos settles, planning the rest of the day is key, especially to dive into some creative work means little distraction is required. Some days are dedicated to concepting from scratch, exploring the psychology behind what makes a viewer stop scrolling and actually engage. Other days, it’s all about polishing, reviewing storyboards, iterating on static designs, or shaping 2D animations until every visual speaks with clarity and intent.

A big part of the role is building pitch decks laying out not just the visuals, but the why behind each creative choice. This means working with our strategy team to pair performance data with platform insights and, of course, UA Testing. These decks aren’t built in isolation; every idea is sharpened by conversation. The collaborative culture at Artstash Creative is what makes the work stronger. Whether it’s bouncing around a UGC idea with the video team or syncing with strategy to understand campaign priorities, we operate as one tight creative machine.

Midday, time for a quick walk around the block. It sounds simple, but it’s become a secret weapon. Creative problems have a funny way of solving themselves after 20 minutes in the sun. Providing a clearer mind and occasionally, a whole new angle for a campaign we’ve been working on.

Afternoons are a blend of research, design sprints, and caffeine-fueled ideation. This is the time to dig deep into what’s trending, think about scroll stopping hook openers, what’s performing well  in real money gaming, or how top apps are evolving their visual identity. It’s about staying ahead while always asking: how can we make this feel fresher, smarter, and more resonant for the user?

No matter what’s on the to-do list, one thing stays consistent: the goal is always growth. For our clients, for their scale of audience, and for us as a team.

After work, it’s time to recharge, play some games, listen to a podcast, and the occasional dive into a rabbit hole of inspiration (some of my best visual references have come from the most unexpected places).

And then to do it all again tomorrow with new challenges, sharper thinking, and another shot of espresso.
